3rd to 14th January 2016

Inferno 2016 is the 13th New Zealand Venture from 3rd to 14th January 2016.

Rotorua, the heart of the volcanic North Island, is the venue for this melting-pot of activities and adventure. Venturers (14-18 year olds) from all over New Zealand will be joined by teenagers from Australia, Asia-Pacific and further afield, all sharing this unique mix of exploration, culture and friendship.

Held only every three years, this Venture expects to bring together 1,000 teens for (as quoted from previous Venture participants, and their parents!) "The time of their life".

Inferno 2016 provides the perfect blend of responsibility and freedom - YOU get to choose the scale of your adventure. Whether you decide to ramp up an existing passion, or try something for the very first time; whether you want to get muddy, sweaty, wet and puffed or relax, kick-back and chill; there is an option for you.

With a volcanic theme, adrenaline might be required. But relaxing hot pools might also be in your sights! Either way, Inferno 2016 is certain to offer up new experiences and lifelong memories.

Inferno 2016 will be twelve days of action-packed fun, with a selection of activities simmering day and night to keep you and your new mates busy!

The Venture is split into two sections: Phase One and Phase Two. The first half of Inferno 2016 is Phase One: The Expeditions.

Scouts spend the first night on site in Rotorua, getting to know your fellow Venturers and getting organised for departing for your expeditions the next day!

Want to extend an existing passion? Or keen to try something completely new? The Inferno 2016 Programme Team has worked hard to ensure there is a furnace full of hot activities for you to choose from! Here are the 30 on offer:

Some Expeditions may even help you earn a recognised qualification - such as Dive In and an open water dive ticket - or even help you with elements of the Venturer Award Scheme. You can be sure that each Expedition will showcase the best of the North Island, with plenty of adrenaline, touring, scenery and fun.

With the Phase One Expeditions completed, everyone returns to the Venture Site on the outskirts of Rotorua for Phase Two, bubbling with boundless stories to share and eager to argue that their own Expedition was the best!

Imagine 1000+ teenagers in one place, sparking with enthusiasm as they vent their energy through an extensive range of on-site activities, off-site adventures, and evening events. Above all, Phase Two provides five days of choice for you to choose how to spend your time. It can be as adventurous (or not!) as you like, with as many activities (or time to socialize!) as you wish. The hardest part will be fitting it all in!
