Immaculate Conception Cub and Boy Scouts celebrate 'Scout Sunday'
Scouts from Cub Scout Packs 190 and 901 and Boy Scout Troop 200, each charted by Immaculate Conception Church of Annandale, joined Scouts across the nation in celebrating "Scout Sunday" Feb. 7. Scout Sunday allows Scouts from Christian faith-based chartered organizations to show their appreciation for the religious institutions that support their units and for their congregations to learn more about the value of Scouting.
During the service, Cub Scouts Sean and Liam Bolger of Pack 901, were recognized for earning the Light of Christ and Parvuli Dei religious emblems of their faith, respectively. To earn these awards each boy completed an activity book with faith-based, family oriented activities that helped them understand their identity as a member of their family, community, and as a Catholic. All Scouts in attendance also received an image of St. George, the patron saint of Boy Scouts.
