 Scouts of Malta

With fewer than 120 days to go for the 23rd World Scout Jamboree in Japan, the Maltese contingent’s preparations are well under way. The team will be made up of 28 members from the Scout Association of Malta.

The World Scout Jamboree is organised by the World Organisation of the Scout Movement every four years and is typically attended by several tens of thousands of Scouts from around the world, aged 14 to 17.

This year, the jamboree will be held in Kirara-hama, Yamaguchi City, located in the western part of Japan, facing the calm Seto Inland Sea. It exemplifies many aspects of contemporary Japan, such as a modern city, beautiful nature, traditional performing arts, old buildings as well as modern industries.

The World Scout Jamboree is an opportunity for participants to experience a quality Scouting programme based on the definition, purpose, principles and needs of young people, as well as the Scout Method.

Participants will develop physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially and spiritually through a large-scale camping experience in an international environment supported by adults.

The programme will include module activities, subcamp life, interaction and exchange with Scouts gathered from all around the world, with the essence of the theme.

During the jamboree, participants will be taking part in themed activities such as the Global Development Village, Hiroshima Peace Memorial and the Nagasaki Peace Forum.
